Tendril wisps of grief float like smoke
white puffs steaming out of the darkness.
Contentment curls like clouds in the sky
silver blue mixed with powdery softness.
I stand in the midst
open to it all.
Bliss bleeds into the daylight like the sun spilling rays on an empty sidewalk
striking whimsical white upon white.
I breathe it in.
To taste the sweet elixir of life,
and feel the searing pain.
To fall into the abyss of the unknown,
and trust in the expansive mystery.
To break open in a moment of love,
And hold a heart breaking.
Waves crash in and retreat in the blink of an eye.
I am floating amongst the turmoil, settling into who I am at every given moment.
Like mist wrapping around the edges of time
my sojourn here on earth, in this body, in this mind
holding with compassion for what was, what is, and what will be.
